Jacks
Hands up who can remember playing Jacks at school? You may have referred to them as Five Stones, Onesies or even Gobs if you live in Ireland. This is a great game and all children should learn it immediately!! There are some very inferior quality sets out there, but this one is the Real McCoy, including solid metal jacks, a rubber ball and a little bag to keep them in. Box size 7 x 7 x 3cm (2 3/4 x 2 3/4 x 1 1/8 inches). Warning – this product contains small parts and is not suitable for children under 3 years. Rough rules:
There are many different versions of this game. The basis of each is to throw the ball into the air and catch it again after agreed moves have been made with the jacks.
Put all the jacks on the ground. Throw the ball into the air, pick up two jacks, then three, then four and so on. A player’s turn ends if he or she drops the ball, or (if you are playing an easier version of the game) allows it to bounce more than once.
